SPECIAL NOTE Librands Wrap Around +8 Exhaust System
I dislike writing this note. But GoMoG is a community service and the Community requires candor, which is so hard to find these days.
I am a big fan of Librands, as I am of every quality supplier to the Morgan Community. The owners of this company are morganistes to their core and have shunned the silliness of the new predatory suppliers to the Community. They deal in quality..where so many now deal in far less bith in manufacture and concept. :(
However, I cannot recommend this system. I have received many reports since its creation and that is what brings me to this conclusion. It was designed, with solid theory behind it and specifically for the era of GEMS Plus 8s (2000-2004 in the UK and 1998-2004 overseas). The GEMS Plus 8s have proven to be the most problematic of the long history of Plus 8s, finally brought down by the march to vehicles less harmful to the enviroment. There are limits to how far one can march in that fashion with an early 1960s engine design. The engine and its management became too compromised. The wrap-around exhaust tried to get their low bhp back up.
This resulted in a very expensive exhaust that is super complex with double (+) the installation costs! The warp around makes deep errors too easy to occur and heats everything in the engine bay, oil sump to brake fluid...and more. It is aesthetically unpleasant. The alleged bhp gains are not that remarkable compared to other, prettier, simpler performance systems that cost less and install easily with little chance of errors.
That does NOT mean you must search out suppliers other than Librands! And Librands offer other systems as well
