Picked up the Mog from Felixstowe UK on the Thursday before
Easter, all secure in container thanks to 14 tie down ropes etc.
No problems with clearing or customs, & on our way.
Had Good Friday lunch with Anglemog & Folkmog at Diss, Norfolk where there were 20 or so Morgans gathered. A good afternoon and a run through some old villages to another tea stop. Stayed with Mog members that night.
Next day, on to Melvyn Rutter who sold our Plus 8 to the previous owners in 1986. Melvyn remembers bringing the car back from the owner before them, as a pile of bits & pieces, chassis on roof rack, engine in his trailer. Had a good look around, particularly at Peter Morgan's Plus 4 Plus which is entrusted to Rutter's for a total resto.
Then a few days with some of our relatives and on to France.
In Amiens we met up with Christopher Bushell King and his family. His wife Emma showed Laurette and Myself around the town and then we had an excellent dinner at a local restaurant by the canal whilst discussing the ins & outs of Morgans till late that night.
Next few days crossing France to the Schlumpf Museum. Amazing collection of cars with an equally astonishing background. However, not a Morgan in sight!!
Today arrived in Mainz Germany where the Trial starts on Sunday.
