The timed regularity sections have included climbs up gravel roads with snow banked on either side. Lots of hairpin bends & local traffic still using the  road.

Today, our rest day, we spent 6 hours working on the car which has taken a  battering on the rough roads. The main job today was to pull the steering box & linkages out & realign everything.

Yesterday whilst hurrying along to reach a control, a police car drove alongside & motioned us to pull over. As it was in a town we were observing the speed limits so didn,t know if the situation was serious.
Both policemen got out of the car & shook hands. The senior one then said that he was very curious about the car & us & wanted us to go home with him  to drink tea! We managed to make polite excuses sayýng that we had to make  Istanbul this evening & sorry we didn't have time.
